2022 VX Deluxe Top Speed!
Hello Fam. I recently bought a VX Deluxe for the kids, wanted something decent that they wouldn't wreck their **** on .
Anyways, all the posts I saw said top speed ranged about 54-55mph, even in the Rivaracing site the Stage 1 kit says it takes it from 55 to 59mph top speed.
However, after breaking it it and putting in about 5 hours in it, I am hitting max of 42mph top speed. Does this seem right?
I was thinking of flashing the ECU and even getting the Stage 1 if it unlocks the 59mph but I am not sure if I would be going down the right path. Any help on this one?

Welcome.
Have you confirmed the actual top speed using a GPS app on smartphone?
Or using a hand held GPS unit?
What sustained maximum engine RPM does the dash show?
What altitude and air temperature do you ride at?
This VX Deluxe model has the TR-1 engine, correct?

Hey K447
Yes it's the TR-1 engine. I'm usually in the Parker AZ, Laighlin, NV so Elevetaion ranging 430-560' and last trip was pretty hot, it was about 80-100 F most of the time I was riding.
I did not check the sustained RPM so I might take it for a spin at the local lake and get that info. I also did not use a GPS app, only going on what's on the dashboard.

Hey K447 I took the ski out to the lake, had some glass so perfect condition. Here are my findings
- Top Speed 42mph
- RPM at Top Speed 6800
- GPS app on mobile was only off by 1-2mph and most of time accurate
The Rivaracing site clocks this ski at 55mph top speed at 7800 rpm
The issue - my drive control setting only has low and medium (no high setting)
I'm speculating at this point that the lack of ability to hit higher rpms might have something to do with this.
Issue is the drive control does not let me change mode to anything other than low and medium
Thinking....will the ECU flash and stage 1 provide a mode to reach the advertised 8300 rpms?

Drive Control will reduce engine power and speed
These threads may prove helpful.
My understanding is that Drive Control needs to be turned off entirely to allow maximum power and speed.

TY!
I tried this at home and can see the Drive Control has been disabled. I will take it back out to the lake and see how this turns out.

I also have a 22 VX Deluxe. I’ve seen 49-51mph. Between 75-7600. I can’t get any more out of it. If you are only getting 6800, you not getting all your rpms.

Thanks K447 and Cyborg, that was it. The Speed Control was capping my RPMs, top speed 52 at 7800
