PV borken question
I found a broken PV at the cat when I was putting in a D-plate in the wife's ski. Yes I got lucky and the cylinder looks fine.
Question - I have some replacement valves. They have a groove in the brass- they are also a little different - the top of the curve to the pin is longer than the one I found in the exhaust (I also have some 800 valves and they are solid brass but are also longer from the highest point on the curve to the pin)
Which ones are what year ? Here is the broken one and a pics of the unknowns...
Upper LH GP800 similar brass to the 02 GPR
Upper RH unkown different brass to the 02 GPR
Lower My accident...the brass looked like the upper RH
Also notice how my 02 has an angle on the width in a different side ? any significance ?
Please note how MINE is shorter from the center curve to the edge..what gives ?

On my XLT the valve looked the same way, it was from hitting the top of the piston just right. Fortunately, I got it in time & the cylinder was OK.

So what new valve did you put in ? Did you see my pictures and confusion ?
I think I'm just going to make one of the ones with the groove fit.

Ah I see what you are talking about. If it fits in the hole then you are good (same hight and width). Mine is like the top right in your pic. I got a used one for $20 from some shop and it came with a non groved part. I use the other one because it was what came out of my ski.
