interesting injector information
I'm going through my RXP-X to see what I bought. A previous owner did many Riva bolt-on mods, and the guy I bought it from had no idea what had been done to it.
I looked up my injectors to see if they are OEM or aftermarket, and I found out something interesting.
They're made in China by a company called DEFUS
(https://www.df-fuelinjector.com/0280...lia-08-14-4-0i)
for the Australian Ford Falcon!
The 4.0L inline 6 turbo in this ute makes 360 HP.
The website doesn't specify the flow rate. I just says, "same as original."
Are these OEM for a Rotax 1630? Does anyone recognize them? Or did someone get creative and swap these in?

Sorry but those are trash. I did a flow test on those and they flow like a garden hose, zero atomization and forget about any consistent flow rate. China can make decent stuff but those injectors are garbage.
Here is how they flow, 3 on the left are OEM and the one on far right is defus, it's a garden hose flow pattern.

I have seen injectors with spray patterns intentionally like that but they are normally secondary injectors that spray directly at the top of the velocity stack or are part of a throttle body injector setup. All in all economizing on injectors is a big gamble.

I'm still curious to know if these injectors are stock or if they've been swapped in.
It's only curiosity. These injectors will never go back in.
This engine is getting a cam and an 18# wheel. Feeding it fuel will be a set of VT1100s and an RRFPR.

No BOOM found so far.
I have completely stripped the head.
Rockers, valves, valve seats, and cam all look and feel perfect. Tops of the pistons and the cylinder walls look excellent.
I pulled the engine this afternoon. I might crack the crankcase this evening. I don't expect to find anything.
Leakdown showed 30% loss in every cylinder. So far I haven't found a reason.
