I don't have a service manual with me, but I believe it's for the electric trim.

I decided to swap the entire wiring harness since I had to buy one to get that shorting cap. As it turns out, my starter seems to engage better and faster.
Then I turned my attention to big orange power switch. It was reading ˝ ohm on one pole and open on the other and thought I finally found the problem. Did you know you can open up these switches and clean contacts? After I did this, both poles show continuity of zero ohms.
Still no signs of life from the dash.
Now I remove the 2 lights on the dash to check them out….both blown. Now replaced and tested with a battery, but don’t come on when power switch is engaged.

Since the dash as out of the ski to change lights, I looked at the tachometer which had moisture in it. It had lots of water inside it. Basically I destroyed it to gain access. PC board corroded and a general mess.

This week…purchasing a tach, trim control box and that other control box. Nothing else left.

The whole process has taught me to look at everything because if I did not, I would have been more frustrated changing these boxes and possibly messing them up.

I have been in Covid hell for weeks. However....

all dashboard is fixed: tach replaced, speedo, trim and even the fuel gauge.
    trim and KATS is working.
    2 new to me blackboxes.
Here's something I did that was daring....the KATS box I ordered was 1 digit different than the one I took off.
It had 1 more wire than previous (Grrrr).
5 pin instead of 4 pin.
I omitted the use of that yellow wire and all workes well.

I am very encouraged fixing these older ski's.

Good! Not ignoring you, I've just been pretty busy.

    Glad it's working OK.
