    Oil pump old style or late style ? Pros & Cons

    SVHO Oil system!
    Witch system is better old style or late style?
    pros & cons.
    what could be the best option or mod for a high rpm Svho engine.

    Are you asking about the oil pump or the oil cooler?

    Oil Pump.
    the old style have dual suction pickup and the late style have single suction pickup.

    All the svho have single suction style, the dual suction are common on sho engine.

    I think both work great but remember the oil pump, oil pan, engine side plate and valve cover have to match whichever system you use.

    Im aware of that, but Im curious because the old style pump looks more beefy than the newer style and looks like they can provide more volumen of oil for high rpm engine. I just trying to find witch could be better.

    Me too, I been running my stock block 9,300rpm for a while but now Im doing a forged motor with few upgrade to archives 9,800 to 10,000 rpm. That is the reason to digging a little more about the oil pump.
