    FX SHO rough idle and stalling when cold

    Hi just wondering if anyone can help.
    I have a 2010 FX SHO when it is cold it barley wants to start and has a really rough idle in the water or out, when I get it in the water you have no power to start and runs roung the whole time and your limited on revs and as the ski starts to warm up it runs better and you can slowly get more RPM out of it. after about 5 to 10 mins of running it runs and idles perfect and you can max out the RPM. if you let it sit to long on a ride it will play up a little for a minute or tow them come good. So far I have tried new injectors, new coil packs and plugs, re-tensioned all plug pins , compression test and checked the cam timing.
    has anyone had this issue before or have any ideas on what to try next. Any help would be great.

    Welcome.

    Has this machine ever run properly for you, from cold start?

    What does ‘no power to start when in the water’ mean?

    Have you inspected the OEM intake filter?

    Any warnings on the dash?

    Do you have access to engine diagnostics such as CANDooPro or Yamaha dealer diags?

    How old is the battery? Are all of your ground connections clean and secure?

    I bought it off a mate with a blown head gasket but he said it ran fine before that, with the no power if you try to take off in the watter it misses badly and wont rev it stops around 2grand, as you ride it more you can get more rpm out of it but its still missing and after 5 to 10 mins you have full rev range and it runs perfect with heaps of power. Air filter has been cleaned battery isnt that old and its been on charge the engine is really clean and i cleaned all the earth point before i put the engine back in.

    I wonder if the intercooler is leaking water into the engine air flow.

    Clamp the water feed hose going to the intercooler so there is zero water flow into the intercooler. See if the engine runs much better when cold. You won’t have full boosted power (because no inter-cooling) but it will run a lot better than when it was been ingesting water.

    What else changes as the engine warms up?

    Is it possible the head gasket replacement is not 100% correct and is leaking water into the engine when running cold?

    It runs rough without any water connected at all I ran it for 30 sec without water and was still running rough

    No warning lights or codes thats why i am stumped i have tryed everything i can think of
