Do GPR R&D heads need girdles?

We picked up R&D pump gas head for our 1200R. After looking at them, they appear to need girdles. Thoughts??

I think girdles are usually standard with those heads. If you don't have them, you can make some using threaded rod.

I do not have them. What do we need to complete this install?

Just get some 10x1.25 metric threaded rod. You need enough for 12 pieces, bevel both ends of each piece. The length required includes 2 nut heights, plus 2 threads. Or, install one rod in the crankcase upper half, screw a nut down, and measure for accuracy. If you can find SS grade 5 or better that would be what I would use. Grade 8 metric is easier to find though. Good luck with it!

Actually acquired a set of lowers… just need the Allen bolts for the top side.
