    2000 Sea-Doo XP 951 Rave Valve Trimming

Im going to be rebuilding my 2000 Sea-Doo XP 951. I am going to bore the cylinder to 1.0 to 1.5. How do i go about trimming the rave valves so they do not catch on the piston? Can anyone point me to a thread on how to do it? Thanks much!!

Ay machinists that do bore and deck work will often cut rave blades back to match the new jug diameter for piston clearance.

It's not rocket science. Just use a grinder (carefully) or dremel, and trim down the longest part.....right out on the angled end. When you see a nice even 1mm flat shiny area then install it and use a straightedge down the cylinder to make sure nothing is sticking out.
