LF an answer: How to Delete Oil Reservoir (951CC)

I am looking to delete my pump for a premix set up due to a failed tank seal. This is my second reservoir seal failure on separate skis, the first one I plastic welded the top to the bottom but I would like to remove it entirely AND avoid the subsequent "limp mode" from the oil sensing device.

Has anyone done this successfully? If not, no stress, I am out for another answer before i go through plastic welding again.

ALSO! MHow do race rigs handle premix set-ups?

In advance, Thank you and Cheers!

You can remove pump install a block off plate and premix at 50:1.

However if its a rec riding ski I would keep the tank for convenience. Probably find a used tank on ebay cheap..

I have the block-off kit, i want to know of any tips for how to delete the reservoir without setting off the “low oil” alarm and limp mode. Im trying to make a runabout 1000 so id like to try for as much weight reduction as possible. Ive never done this before so learning what i can from these forums is hopefully going to clear a lot up.

No problem if it's carbed. You CAN NOT premix a Di ski!!
Just use a piece of brass or stainless wire and stab it into the backside of the oil sender connector thus connecting the 2 wires. The MPEM will 'see' a full oil tank all the time. I go 40:1 on anything I switch to premix and open the carb adjusters up a tad more than stock.

SIDE NOTE.....there is now an aftermarket 1 piece oil tank available new.
