185 ECU in 215

I sent an ecu to someone to tune my OG 215 ecu for bigger injectors and such. He ended up getting an empty box in the mail. To make matters worse I purchased an ECU locally being told it was out of a 215, but its actually out of a 2003 185 SC. I paid a lot more than I wanted for it too.

Searching through threads I see people running 185 ecu's in a 155 by adding the MAP sensor. But I don't see anything about flashing a 185 ECU to a 215. Anyone have the answer for that? Are these wired differently or is it just software? Or am I out a thousand bucks in ECUs?

They have same injectors but different fuel pressure so fuel maps dont work good in 215 and it use different boost levels. Sure 100% that minimum you need put 215 software

Thanks for your reply. I been reading a lot today. I also learned that there’s some incompatibly between 04-07 wiring/engines with sensors.

Just get a stock 255-non-IBR/260-IBR ECU, build from there, if your 215 is a 2008 above, but 185 and 215 are internal differences thats why a lot of 155,185 and 215 can and cannot work together just depends on parts, i would not use an ECU from 185 on a 215 because the boost (SC) and fuel levels are lower from different Piston and RPM, if they can tune 185 like a 215.

Most of my skis are pre2006. I’m new to the BRP world but learned pretty quick these things aren’t rocket science and ended up getting my own utilities to flash firmware.

Part them out. You'll waste your money on them. Those years are all the problem years, Improvements only came after 2008 or so.
