I got most of it fig out but ended up with an extra black bullet connector ?

The black wire with bullet connector connects to stator black wire on 1 end ,but nothing in box to connect to . Should I cut the connector off and put it with the grounds ?

Photo of the black wire problem?

  4. #4
I have a photo I’ll try to upload . Basicly cdi black wire has a ring terminal. Black wire from stator is a bullet . I found some instructions online . I think I cut off bullet and add to grounds . Then diconnect small black wire from battery . This is the sbt ignition update for my 99 sltx . I really wish they had included instructions. I found some pvl ones online but just shows wiring diagram

Did you use this link to find the PVL Ignition Upgrade Kit instructions?

The thin Black wire from the stator does need to connect to the electrical ground (black wire group) inside the electrical box. It has been years since I actually did a PVL ignition kit install. I do not recall whether there was a mating bullet connector in the PVL kit or whether the provided update kit stator Black wire came with a ring terminal.

Well the black wire from stator connects to harness coming out of e box where cdi is located . Where it ends in a bullet conn. The black wire from new cdi has a ring conn.
kinda messed me up . It was getting dark , so I fig I would do some research and finish it today . Gotta fig out how I’m gonna bolt fuel tank back in lol pretty tight
