    keel shot

the weather is beautiful here today... the water is pretty calm and no wind... snapped some interesting shots... you can see the plated keel I built and how it extends and integrates the single trim tab and the well worn cobrajet steering...

amp and speaker upgrade Done... my little trap door hinge idea worked perfect and I was able to get all the wires and fit amps in the space I had...

now to get after that custom marine mat install... oh and adjust my base trim tab angle as I ran the 2 strokes with about 5 degrees down all the time... it made the boat much more stable gonna make up tab +5 or 10 degrees... now that my fuel load is forward on the centerline i don't need -5 all the time

built some new 155 HO pumps for the LS2000/AR210 transom plates

title says it all... i needed to get more pump and impeller on my repower project so i can put all this new power to the ground... let alone the stbd pump only has half the stator veins left... so in this upgrade I pick up 14/20 impellers, intake screens and 22mm shafts... Pretty easy build...

bore out the stator housing for the original bolt pattern... plug the coolant passage and add an elbow to the screen cover to route the coolant to the old transom plate...

quick buff out of the 20+ year old hull...

Came out pretty good for just faking it and some old 3M rubbing compound that was on the shelf

Gotta weld this spare nozzle up (for dimension check) and touch up the stator housing with the die grinder for slight clearance issues, thread these stud bolts in the lathe and then I’m ready to install and the entire repower will be compete.. I have 2 degree pump wedges coming and I want to make sure my studs are long enough and threads are long enough to accommodate stacking from 0 to 4 degrees... OEM pump bolts are 7mm dia with rolled threads... I'm building 8mm 316L studs with cut threads

2004 AR210 MR-1 HO Prototype Jet Pump install new rubbers and mid bearings too..

ok so here's the detail... Piece of cake to service.. popped the exhaust hose loose and then slid the engine back to pull the mid bearing... New mid bearing assembly's New coupler shaft and flanges/o-rings... (one thing to note you have to use the shorter 2006 AR230 HO coupler shafts as the jetski female coupler shaft is too long) i also set the flange to case depth to match the old ones... they are a light press fit... coolant hose routing up out of the way... pumps bolted right up used the OEM bolts for now... as they worked... (NO pump Wedges yet as I want to see if i can get my 2 stroke speed back first...) all in all easy peasy...

ya think i was gettin a little cavitation outta this one and full thrust? 12/18 small hub (non HO/low pressure) and i could still run 46-47 MPH LOL
port pump was working OK but had a bad mid bearing seal...

Glad to catch up on this and see this. I had always planned on swapping to the modern pumps if I did a motor swap on my LS2000. Good job!

thanks... If i can get my speed back ill be happier... the boat is a joy now it feels so much more planted and its so quiet and so much better on gas... I run it nearly every day for and hour or so... sometime longer trips... its just the ticket down here most of my time is spent in 2' or less of water... I cant wait to get some time to swap in the new 15/22 solas

i think i found some of my missing speed.... i have 5 degrees nose down trim tab at fully retracted... that was perfect for the two strokes as it kept it from porpoising at WOT.... I think its needs to be 0 or 5 Degrees nose up for the MR1s at cruise to let the bow rise.... It was very smooth water today and I spent prolly 30 min playing with throttle settings and trim tab settings... it acts like it wants to go faster... I've been using the tab more and more lately to keep the stern outta the water coming on and off plane....

I would imagine with the bulk of the engine/fuel weight being moved forward would definitely effect how much of the bow would be riding in the water at various speeds. So getting that nose back to a normal or even raised position when riding in smooth water will likely gain speed for sure.
