150 round-trip on 06 GP 1300R
Hey everyone. I am trying to decide weather or not to take my 06 GP 1300R on a 150 mile round trip ride. We will be stopping at several marinas for gas and doing some ocean rideing also. Any inputs and what would you say the distance between fuel stops at a cruiseing speed of 40mp on the GP would be. Never measure distance of a full tank before. Here is a link to the ride i am takeing.

You should be fine, plan on gassing up every 40 miles +/- a few. We did a dam run on Lake of the Ozarks a few years ago (200+ mi round trip) with 2 - Stage II gprs and an XP, no problems. We went thru about 5 tanks of gas, and we were running pretty hard. Throw some Power Bar Gel's in your glove box in case you get tired they help, and take some water. Have fun.

That sounds about right. At WOT my tank will last about an hour give or take at lets say 70 mph average taking into acount wakes, chop ect. So thats 70 miles per tank at WOT which gets about half the milage that cruising speed gets. I would say if you go with a full tank and your able to make at least one fuel stop you will be ok. Of coarse if your in big surf or waves it will change things.

I go for regular rides at sea on my GP1300r of about 60miles and that comes out at 45 to 55 litres depending on the sea conditions (the GPR tank hold 60 litres). So I wouldn't plan on more than 50 miles before refueling.

done it...
Have been several times from Sacramento to Rio Vista...California Delta that is. Very fun trips with marinas and Islands and beaches.
Total of 100+ round trip...sometimes with 10 year old son. Sort of a "huck fin" thing.
Best of times...
