***2007 Seadoo Watercraft Technical Updates***
I have been meaning to type this up and just have not had the time, so I'm on my lunch break at work and figured I'd get started. Thought some may be interested in the improvements Seadoo implemented in the 07 line-up, so as to constantly improve their product, which they always do! But, no machine is perfect and we know there are still issues to be addressed hopefully in the future. It's good to know that each year we dealers are sent a book compiled of all the changes and improvements they are always making.
- Handlebars - 3 in wider in total width and 4.5 degrees more upward tilt
- Resonator is now water injected on all 4-tec models
- New Stainless grade clamps on all exhaust and coolant lines
- all machines for 07 equipped with throttle body lubrication fitting
- revamped electrical system, new fuse lcoations and fuse blocks, new wiring harness, MPEM eliminated to utilize single ECM for total control - simpler and much more reliable
- R-key - all 4-tecs can be programmed to have a regular, learning, and R key like rentals for appx 47 mph operation
- reverse gate pivot strengthened in production process
- new wear ring material - polyethylene UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) -- used ONLY on 4-tecs with aluminum jet pumps... old wear rings still used on plastic pumps
- GTX series machines and Wake get the new storage cover, new hood design, wind deflector for a new look and weight reduction.. also a new shock dampener mechanism is used
- touring seat on GTX and Limited models for back support
- GTX/RXT hulls 40-50 lb reduction (depends on model, engine, and hood design) -- hull and deck thickness optimaized, new interior bilge shape
- new air intake duct along side of motor to fit the new bilge design on 3-seaters (not a thin rectangle anymore, full round flowing pipe)
- GTI series machines improved for quality and construction... wind dflector, hood, coolant tank supports, storage bin latch, vent tube darts, and seat edging, corners, and felt additions all improved
- speedo shaft larger for better accuracy
- intercooler welding process changed - same air flow tho - new supplier
- camchain tender and plug screw changed - less tension on chain for 07 models
- Oil cooler fittings changed... new hoses and new straight fittings
- new starter drive gear
- additional ground embosses on cylinder block to accomodate new electrical system
- engine hoist/transport brackets are now stainless steel for quality improvement

That is a lonnggg list!
Boataddict, if you say 260hp+ where/how is SD going to limit the speed? I really don't think they'll release anything faster without deeming it a race edition.

I'm not necessarily speaking on the speed limit and the CG agreement. I'm talking safety of the consumer. I don't think any manufacturer in their right mind would make a watercraft that goes faster than their machine already capable of 68-70 out of the box. But who knows, it did take them 4 years to put metal washers in their S/C

And I was wondering why the 250X could not beat my 07 RXT???????
No seriously, I have been searching for the MPEM since I got it, this explains where it went.
