RXT - Procedure for Lubing Steering Cable?

2005 RXT 215HP. The handlebars have become very hard to turn. I need to lube/grease the steering cable. What's the procedure/steps for lubing the cable? Please advise. Thanks.

in the back where you can see the outside sheath in the inside cable I tape a strong at that point with electrical tape, get a good can of spray Lube and spray it until it comes out the handlebars

Same machine here - I ended up replacing the cable. When the old one was out it was clear from how rigid it was that there was extensive internal corrosion. Its not a bad job.

@rtarford Thanks for the trick. What brand/kind of spray lube have you used?

I use motorcycle chain lube for all types of control cables, hit it first with some wd-40 to help along with extra capillary action
