I just got a '21 GP 1800 SVHO and loaded the Riva stock tune - 8000 rpm with the speed limiter removed and reached 74 mph as read by Garmin 78S GPS. If you set the Auto Trim to ON you will also get Drive Control shown on the screen but with no speed or acceleration limits.

Yes auto trim did not seem to affect the max speed…it was drive control that seems to limit top speed to less then maximum capability

So I have same 8000RPM tune, can also confirm 74mph on dash with Auto Trim engaged (Drive Control displayed on dash).

Found this as well in the SM….

I love using cruise control. I am heading over to Lake Geneva tomorrow to ride and plan on using it there as I go by all the million dollar homes.

That program is limited at 7000 RPM as well. Might be related somehow?

Oh man! Check out this VX Cruiser HO review.

He did a high speed run and also didn’t even know the settings were “on” so he was limited to 57 mph. It’s crazy how un-intuitive this display is for owners. Yamaha has to get this straightened out or frustrations will continue for their owners.

That goes for me, the YouTube author above, two Yamaha dealers and Yamaha corporate.

itís a new design, not as intuitive to most, but perhaps to you it is.

Admittedly, I just kinda skimmed through looking in the OM for directions on how to disable DC, but I didn't see it spelled out. Nor did the OM spell out what the DC settings actually did. The 7000RPM limit is there for cruise, it is not for DC.

I'm in the camp that the system should be more intuitive.

Perhaps it is with the pin code system activated - something I have not bothered to mess with.

I am still figuring out my gas gauge. The last time I rode, it showed one bar, flashing orange and beeping at me. I loaded up and when I filled up to be set for the next outing, it only took 14.5 gallons of the 18.5 capacity. Weird??

Where in wisconsin are you? Don’t ride an svho. You’ll want one. Im in Milwaukee.
