Removing Front Pump Cone thing
Whatever it is called I have been told by removing this you will in the end help lessen buck and it will give you mph on top because it makes the flow of water more even to the pump.
Is this right? I was thinking about taking things apart just to remove that.
What do guys think?

On my testing there has been no gain in speed. I
have lost speed on some props and others it made
no difference in speed. There bad about coming off,
and it does help on a fast ski over 80 with bucking
issues. So you just need to test it on your boat. Results
will vary.

Anyone try this on a 14/20 Dynafly setup?

Chris, there are too many variables. This is just like the buck issue, everyones ski is a little different and info from one ski does not apply to another. I do not have the cone on my Dynafly but I did not do any back to back testing so I cant tell you how it affected my boat.

The four bolts are easy to get off. Depending on how well the pump was sealed when the prop was put in, will make the process of pulling the pump a pain or a breeze. If it is stuck real goo just take 2 flat head screwdrivers and gently tap them into the "prying tabs" and let them sit there for a little while and it will come off that way.
The cone just pushes into the front of the "hub" of the prop and is held there by an O-ring. There are slots on the side of the cone that you can put a screwdriver in to pop it off.

just remove your intake grate and slide the cone forward and cut it off with a dremel, take sless than 10 minutes!

So I have been looking at the Solas page and it says it reduces cavitation to have it? True or untrue? lol
Im not sure I really have to worry about cavitation with this 14/20 anyways.
