    Maptuner Power Question

    Hey all,

Had anyone tried hooking up their maptuner to just a 110/120V wall outlet??? They forgot to send me the cable that hooks the maptuner up to the ski battery to power It during tune synchronization, and I was just curious if I could just power It with an extension cord plugged into the wall?!?! I’m pretty electrically illiterate and just want to make sure I won’t fry the unit or something like that.

    Thanks in advance!
    -Eric

No, you cannot power the Riva MaptunerX from 120 volts AC.

    What cable are you missing?

It is a three ended cable.

One end goes into the Yamaha ECU
One end goes into the MaptunerX box
And one end has (stock) a pair of spring clips for the battery connections.

This is what my MaptunerX cable looks like (top right coiled)

Other than the polarized plug modification I added, there is just one cable set.

Ehhhh, didn’t open the bag yet, not sure if I should in case they want to return/swap me with the cable It was supposed to come with. Just looking at the cable end caps…It looks like one end will plug into the maptuner and the other will plug into my ECU…

The bottom of my maptuner has two ports, one is a small “squarish” looking usb type, the other is thin and long. The PC cable It shipped with plugs into the squarish port and the other end is simple usb into my pc, the cable pictured looks like one end will plug into the long skinny port and the other to the ski ECU

I don’t think the bag is that precious.

if you want to figure out how you might get the tuner working right now, guessing on cable connections is not sufficient.
