    Worth buying??

    '05 Kawasaki STX 12F
I am considering purchasing this, for the trailer. The engine is seized, and I am a Sea Doo guy.
Does it have much value as a complete project, and if so, what would it be worth w/o trailer?

The 12f 'feels' underpowered to me. If it's cheap, buy it! Working gauges will bring 3-400 on ebay.....not to mention the other parts. Oorrrr......try shoving it into an X2 hull!

I've never ridden a -12F, but I know that they are far more trouble-prone and a lot harder to work on than the -15F. I would assume the worst and only pay what it would be worth in parts.

Ask Peter if he has worked on it.

Really the only harder part of the 12f is the intake manifold is longer so it gets in the way of removing.

03 burned up pistons, and so did 06/07s.

They are slower than 15fs and run around 53-55mph. Plenty of power to pull a wakeboarder or tube though.

The air box is a nuisance to R&R, too, as is the starter.

I have absolutely no intention of working on this, or attempting to repair it. I only needed the trailer, so I am going to pass it on as a project for someone else. Just hoping to get an idea of what I should ask.
