94 Raider ?'s
Is a Raider any good for wave jumpimg in the surf? I have one collecting dust in my yard and thinking about getting it running good again to play in the surf.
Has anyone switched out twin 38 carbs for a single 44? Do you loses much performance? Remember I just want to play in the surf with it.
The compression is good. I need to get carbs rebuilt and plug wires changed out. Still orginal wires. The ski starts and idles fine and takes gas on the trailer, but in the water it hestaties and coughs when giving it gas.
Also, I have a jet dynamics ride plate and beach house sponsons to put on.
Thanks

The 94 Raider only weighs 389lbs dry, so it should be great jumping waves in the surf. Rebuild your carbs, change the fuel filter, and make sure the pulse lines are in good shape. I would not go to a single 44, keep your carbs and rebuild them. There are alot of Raider guys here in the old school section that can advise you more on the carb switch, but I see no need.

I will pull carbs, coil and send to JSS. I think the carbs need a good going thru for sure. Get him to replace plug wires from coil too. I am going to go ahead an replace all the fuel lines, too. I want to ride the Raider again.
Thanks, Jim
