    2021 GP1800 R SVHO glove box

Hi. Just wanted to see if anyone else's waterproof glovebox latch had broken. I thought I had seen somewhere, some had broken. trying to get Yamaha Australia to fix mine. They have emailed to say , there hasn't been any .

Mine broke on the second day back in October. They are still back ordered and is of course covered by warranty.

Mine hasn't given me any issues, but it is always in the back of my mind that it could happen due to reports from previous years. I believe the latching mechanism is a new/different design from last year so im hoping its resolved.

Thanks to the info found on the posts here I fashioned a similar bungee strap with bolt and washers. Even though dealer has ordered me a new lid I might just leave this one in place gives me piece of mind its really closed.

Don't slam it when you close it. Bring it down and use your fingers to operate and close the latch gently.
Mine broke a few months ago, after 2 years. I ordered a new latch and lid from Partzilla, it came within a few days. That 2021 latch does look slightly different from my 2019 GP1800R.
