Mine broke a few months ago, after 2 years. I ordered a new latch and lid from Partzilla, it came within a few days. That 2021 latch does look slightly different from my 2019 GP1800R.

This right here is probably why I have never broken mine. I’m very gentle when it comes to opening and closing the lid. It’s not a very stout piece for sure and a little bit of finesse should go a long way

Well, sad to report mine finally broke. I never slam mine when closing it since I've known about this issue. Funny thing is it actually happened while opening it. I pressed the latch and snapped right at the bottom of the latch where it starts to curve up. Seems like the weakspot for this new version. I fashioned a bungee following similar fixes here and it stays shut for now. Might order a new one from the dealer but if its going to break again might not be worth it.

Mine broke before 30 hours, theres a guy on Facebook that sells a replacement latch. I bought one for $35, extremely happy. He uses a 3d printer and a plastic with way less surface tension. It slides over the tab and glues in place. No problems since, why wait on a warranty part that will just fail again. If you're interested ill get his info.Click image for larger version.

By the way, I am pretty sure I found the cover on boats.net
Probably worth noting is that my WaveRunner is a 2021 GP1800R

Glove Box Cover AS: F4P-U4705-00-00 $42.29
The warning label is a separate item: F4P-U41B1-00-00 $ 6.74

You can see the diagram and parts list here:

Mine broke in May. Tab came off in my hand. Same day both dash decorative trim bezels flew off and hit me in the face. Then sank into lake. Yamaha warranty is a joke. Still waiting.

Parts availability is likely the issue and not the warranty itself.
