2014 310R Ultra
Hello
I have a 2014 310R Ultra. It has 28 hours. It is running rough so I did a compression test, using my SNAP-On tool, and cylinder # 4 has 145 compression, cylinder # 3 has 145 compression, cylinder # 2 has 145 compression, cylinder # 1 has 100 compression. Has anyone that own's one of these experience this issue? What causes the # 1 cylinder to drop in compression? Any suggestions? Comments?
Appreciate any help.
Thanks

Thanks for the response Aquaholic. Since Kawasaki knows that the piston have issues will they assist with repairs?

No, Kawi will not help with repair unless the ski is under warranty. My 2016 310x fried #3. When your replace the pistons, go with FORGED PISTONS, or the 300 pistons, and 310 rings. Mine is getting the 300 pistons, and 310 rings. The part number for the 300 pistons are 13001-3741. This was my #3 piston.

I am surprised that there is not some type of litigation again Kawasaki. Kawasaki knowing there is early engine failure with this model, because of an internal mechanical design flaw, should be held responsible for this issue. I would believe that if every owner of a 310 that experienced this problem, submit a complaint to the attorney general it may cause Kawasaki to patriciate in the cost of the repairs. That would build good customer relation and increase customer loyalty.

Somebody here, sorry I can't remember who, had one fail under warranty. Kawasaki agreed to pay to install aftermarket pistons, but the owner had to pay for the pistons.

No one posts "wow my kawasaki 310 just went another 100 hours without burning a piston!". You only hear about the failures so the signal to noise ratio so to speak looks way worse than it is.
