300hp engine in '00 GTX DI -hull.
I'm building 1630-engine to '00 GTX DI Orbital -hull. The pump and the driveshaft are also from 300hp PWC. New driveshaft is much bigger than old one and barely fits through the hole in the hull. So I guess there is not enough water flow to carbon ring any more. Is it only way to laminate bigger pipe through the hull?

Does the carbon ring need water flow or merely the presence of water to work properly?
Would it be possible to create a small water feed connection directly into the side of the driveshaft area and deliver some pressurized jet pump water (diverted from the jet pump raw water feed to the cooling system)?

My guess would be it would work ok water cooling wise, concern is the clearance allowing for the movement of the motor on the engine mounts, you will need X ?clearance to ensure it will not rub into through hull fitting. Sorting out an upgrade should not be a show stopper.

With this nice little drill I drilled a bigger hole through hull so I can fit soil&waste-pipe there.

Has anyone built open loop cooling with original water pump and thermostat? Riva open loop cooling kit would be nice but I don't want to spend $400...

if the open loop style is too expensive or you dont want to go that route for any reason, look in to a stand alone heat exchanger setup. The heat exchanger is cooled by raw water from the jet pump just like the intercooler and exhaust. here is a super long thread about it.

Im converting to a heat exchanger on my 155 because the stock rideplate is leaking and I dont want to replace it.

Dreaming of aluminium intake manifold.
Has anyone a CAD-drawing for 4-tec intake manifold flange?
Is there a car manifold which could be close enough to be modified to fit 4-tec by replacing the flange?

These are intake grates from 300 RXP and '00 GTX and as you can see the one from old GTX is much smaller. Of course the tunnel is also smaller in GTX.
Is this going to be a problem when more water flow is needed?
