Seized connecting rod cap, should it be replaced?
Hi,
I need a help from you guys with the problem shown on the title.
I’m Sunday mechanic working on my;
Yamaha Fx Cruiser svho 2014 with 250 hr.
The ski had been rebuilt by a mechanic in 2019 and this year, I’m trying to rebuilt it by myself.
Currently I’m stuck in the problem.
Bearings have a few scratch and it looked fine.
But all connecting rods and caps have same seize... shown in the picture
How are you legends thought for it?
It’s usable or replace?
Thanks in advance.

Usually, when a bearing 'spins' it ruins the rod. The rod gains some clearance and loses the ability to properly clamp onto the bearing.

What's the reason for rebuild?
Unless the picture is hiding something that just looks like the usual residue that ends up trapped between the rod and bearing.

That rod is perfectly fine. What you are seeing is the normal chatter marks that happen between the bearing and rod.

You can send them out and have the big ends honed and measured to make sure they are within specifications.
