2008 limited 215 housing cracked

I got her used and was going to take the SC off and get it rebuilt since I do not know the history and just like the peace of mind. I had the hardest time getting it out and took days of working it I got it out today. Mind you I have two of them and the other one took less then 30 to get it out. So after removal I notice the 1st O-ring it in bad shape and damage. The metal shifted between the O-rings is also in bad shape. this lead me to inspect the housing better as looks like water and other stuff getting in it. I found the house cracked on the bottom. So after looking at everything it looks like I can remove everything with out removing the engine? Does any one know for sure? I know I have to remove the pump and prop so doing this I going to replace the carbon seal since I having to remove it to start with. What other items am I going to need to order and or should I replace. I know new housing and seals for it and the PTO.

You can remove the PTO with the engine in the ski but its a lot easier just to pull the engine out IMO. Those supercharger washers are about 12 years old so I would definitely get it rebuilt asap.

That thing looks like a salty, never maintained, mess. I think I have a rear housing for an '08. I'd take $65 shipped for it. You'd have to swap all your guts over to it. You'll want to get a new water pump seal as well.

Please let me know if you do have one. Yes they was not well taken care of. I have washed them over and over with salt away hoping I covered everything. Skis run great put about 34 hours on them Aug Sept. With no issues was hoping to hit the water in March but may be a little late doing so.

Thats a good deal. Maybe he'll throw in a gasket or sell you one so you dont have to order it separately.

I'd suggest getting a few cans of penetrating oil and a small propane torch, I suggest you heat the bolts holding the pto in place and then douse them with penetrating oil after the cool down a little. There is a really good possibility of the pto bolts either breaking or stripping in the engine case if you don't.

This type of engine folks, is why I had a $60 an hour surcharge for anything that was used in salt water..and even sometimes I was sorry I took the job

Found the housing I had, it was also somewhat salty with peeling paint. I popped it in the blast cabinet and cleaned it up. It's off an '08 RXTX 255. It busted a supercharger gear and dinged it up a little but nothing major. My finger is pointing to the SC oiler which I don't think yours has. You can add it or cap it off. The busted gear knocked this one off. You'll need to swap all your guts into it. My Paypal is kv_72653@yahoo.com if you want it.
