If you have been running without the catch can until now I would get rid of the internal flame arrestor in ther intake manifold. Probally coated with oil.

Do they have one? He said external intercooler, that makes me assume his ski had the intercooler built into the intake manifold, normally where the flame arrester would be.

Last winter I upgraded to an x charger and 42s. This winter I bought a used intake and removed the arrestor to go along with the other upgrades.

No, My ski is a 2008 GTX limited 215. It actually came with an internal intercooler so I bought another intake and removed the arrestor so I could retain the internal intake complete for maybe another project later with my other ski.
