Gp1200 clock issues

I have a gp 1200 99 model and the clocks have not worked since I got them . I have since tried a new set of working clocks from a 1200 suv model and the ski womt even click .but if I loop the brown and white (two pin connector ) back on them self it turns over . It also works with the old clocks in but no displays at all has anyone any ideas ??

look under hood for a single blue wire.
unplug it..
then on display hold "Lock" the word "Code" or "Set" should come up on display.
enter in 1-1-1-1,
plug blue wire back in and you should be set.

That not good or right,,
What about leave new display hooked up , remove battery cable for 2 minutes -reconnect and try -it should let you have 1 try at starting it before you have to undo power again..

UPDATE! so the clocks were bust in the end but also the live feed to them was faulty , i took appart the wire and it had corroded inside . new clocks in and new wire with fully working clocks now sorted . cheers for your help guys .
