    Correct, its spins with the shaft. the 3 seals do not, they are in the housing with the rubber seal on the shaft

    Friends,

    Again, I need your help.... As said above the new mid-shaft was successfully changed engine back in place, shims all good. However, went I went to dry fit the get unit (as I am still waiting for a new impeller) the shaft just wont slide in!

    I tried to clean this with a rag, removed the grease (just in case of a hydro lock) nothing it just can’t slide in the coupler. I do recall that when I tried to remove the jet unit it was a bitch. But I was under the impression that this was because the impeller was chaffing with the ware ring. You can feel the shaft sliding in the spiles for a few mm then that’s it the unit will just sit 3 to 4 inches out.

    I really do not want to remove the mid shaft again.

    What are my options?

    Loosen mid shafe bolts, see if pump slide in. if so, then tighten bolts and then adjust motor shims so all in line? that's how I would think. the mid shaft has the least amount of play to adjust.

    From close inspection the shaft seems to have some dents on the spiles (these have been probably done when the old mid-shaft bearing was out of alignment). I will try to clean and file them with a fine diamond filer.

    The pain is the coupler I don’t want to remove this as it’s in place.

    Finally solved this!

    I used some fine diamond files and filed the shaft splines; it went straight in !

    Now just waiting for the new impeller and will test ride
