Polaris SL 1050 Jet pump rebuild and spares

    good day guys,

after testing my ski the weekend and getting poor take off at times it looks like my jet pump through a bearing and now i need spares and need to replace it, I'm in south Africa and Polaris isn't here anymore and shipping can be crazy some times.

please can you advise where i can source some spares to ship here, also are their alternative parts that can be fitted like the bearings from another make ski

can i save any of this, might need a tool for the impeller and what models will fit this ski from the 650 up so i can try source locally as well

maybe also of a good intake grate while I'm at it as I'm at the dam and waters a bit rough so it might help

    thanks

Click my signature link below, look at the jet pump section.
There is jet pump rebuild info.

Bearings and seals are common sizes, should be available through a local industrial bearing supplier.

If the impeller or surrounding wear ring are badly worn, those are Polaris specific parts. There are aftermarket replacements available.

Your impeller photos does show lots of wear along the blade edges. Impellers can be repaired and refurbished to like-new condition. Specialized shops exist that can do this for any brand of impeller. In the USA Impros.com is well regarded.

defiantly is, if i could find a good 6 vain stator and impeller complete would be nice and an upgraded intake grate. but parts are hard to find.

do all these models fit each other or are all different.

ive seen the 750 intake grate is different but not sure on the jet pump.

Without "local" support it is extremely important to read through K447's info.

All 1994 and Newer pump stators will "FIT" . Many newer (2000 &^) 3 cyl models had the 6 vane .

The impeller changed with EVERY model/engine.
I found the 97 SL1050 with it's unique differences does work best with the stock 686 impeller. It is made by Scat Trac and has a pitch of 14/24.

The lower numbers take off better-engine turns MORE RPM.
The higher numbers are harder to take off-have higher top speed-more load on engine/lower top rpm.

With your engine issues avoid higher pitch.

    The 5131366 is a 17/23 and was found on a few 3cyl ski's with the 6vane stator.
Parts and #'s can be looked up here; https://parts.polarisind.com/Advance...ncedSearch.asp

Searching 5131366 will show ALL models that used it.

Since the stator is kinda sealed/not serviced regular, any used stator SHOULD be considered needing rebuild unless proven otherwise. In my opinion a used "good" 6 vane with useable impeller is worth like $150 usd.

All intake grates (other than Genesis) FIT.
A company called R&D made performance grates for Polaris, like at the start.
They called their less aggressive intake grate "650" , kinda for 650 engine models.
Their more aggressive scoop design grate they called "750" for the more powerfull 750 engine models. These will lower top speed conciderably and work the engine much harder.

Polaris factory racing ski's came with the 650 grate from the factory. ( Pro 785/1200- 95? & 96 SLX - Hurricane)

All the black aluminum pump stators, like yours, tend to crack the vanes really easy.
Rather rare to find one in perfect shape. I wouldnt buy an aluminum "site unseen".

Check out Ebay.com for replacement parts as well...many people offer shipping overseas now that Ebay streamlined that process for everyone.
