I would have liked to know which "performance" tune was selected on the Map X programmer. I always knew the RXP would be the quickest, but surprised the GP did not beat it by more on the top end. The RXP will win the drag race every time with the holeshot advantage.
These results and the Ergolock R seat, the RXP is the winner for me.

From Greg, "I didn’t include the specific tunes to avoid confusing people that aren’t so knowledgeable. The Sea-Doo tune is labeled BONE STOCK 8500 and Yamaha is labeled STAGE 1. If I said that Sea-Doo fans would claim 'unfair' because the Yamaha 'has a better tune' but in reality both tunes were designed for bone stock motors with no mods and a 8500 RPM limit."
"Riva’s Stage 1 kit for the Yamaha is just a MaptunerX tune for the bone stock engine /no mods with an 8500 RPM limit which is the one used in the video. The Riva Stage 1 for the Sea-Doo is a SCOM and intake(not an apples to apples comparison). However Riva does have a tune for the bone stock Sea-Doo engine with an 8500 RPM limit which is what i used. So the Yamaha stage one(bone stock 8500 tune) and Sea-Doo BONE STOCK 8500 tune is the true apples-to-apples comparison, they are just labeled differently."

It is unfortunate that Riva continues to propagate confusing Stage labelling for the different brand+engine and hull/model tunes.
Within Riva's tune library for Yamaha (last time I looked) the Stage 1 tune for FX SVHO and the Stage 1 tune for GP1800 SVHO are different. As were the Stage 1 Plus Riva tunes for the same SVHO engine in two different hull models.
Sometimes 'bone stock' refers to the engine hardware configuration the performance tune is designed to work with, and the tune takes maximum advantage of that stock engine. Performance optimal ignition timing, fuel, boost, etc.
Sometimes people use 'bone stock' to mean the tune itself mirrors the factory tune (so not taking maximum advantage) but perhaps with speed or boost limiter removed. Factory timing, boost, etc.
I imagine there are historical reasons for how it become this way, but it would be helpful if Riva would revisit the tune labeling and create a consistent naming structure that newcomers (and the rest of us) could more easily understand.

As long as both tunes do not touch timing or if they do both have the same change % wise.
These machines are so even, PX should win drag races up to stage-1 thanks to launch it has. GP will start to edge out as you go into more extreme modding, no replacement for displacement.
Will be hard to compare further stage levels since the parts vary between them.

I have not opened the MaptunerX Windows app to see how the listed tunes may differ in the details.
The tune library shown on the Riva web site shows the following.
On the Riva web site
https://rivaracing.com/tunelibrary
Model: 2017 GP1800 Tune: Stage 1 8300
RPM/REV Limit: 8300
STAGE 1 8300
Required Parts:
COMPLETELY STOCK – No Performance Parts Installed
Model: 2016-2014 FZR/FZS SVHO Tune: Stage 1 SVHO
8300 RPM/REV Limit: 8300
Required Parts:
Engine Cooling Upgrade Kit – RY10080-ECUK-I
Riva Power Filter – RY13040
Riva Intake Manifold Upgrade Kit – RY12040-IMUK
Model: 2017-2014 FX SVHO Tune: Stage 1 SVHO 8300
RPM/REV Limit: 8300
Stage 1 SVHO 8300
Required Parts:
Engine Cooling Upgrade Kit – RY10080-ECUK-I
Riva Power Filter – RY13070

There is no Stage 1 tune listed for 2018 onwards FX SVHO on the web site
Stage 1 Plus tune is only listed for GP1800 SVHO.

No need to open the maptuner windows app. Just have a look at all staged kits on this page and you will see each modification required for each tune is listed. https://www.4-tecperformance.com/ind...in_page=page_2
(stage 1 is no modifications, it’s a tune only)

Is this the list you are referring to?
The listed parts make no distinction between required parts to match the tune and optional parts (included in the kit) that would work well with the tune.
The green performance comparison bars do not show Stage 1 Plus, only Stage 1 and then Stage 2.
Not showing a Stage 1 Plus bar on the Stage 1 Plus kit product page seems like an omission.
For the 2017 FX SVHO, the Stage 1 kit page lists a lot of parts beyond the tune itself.
None are required for Stage 1, correct?

Excellent testing on both machines. 77 mph top speed is awesome for stock skis! Well done Jerry and Greg!

Went out and tested with the Vbox today, bone stock ski...oil overfilled. Took 20oz out to get back to 3/4 on the stick. Seems like my 19 and my 18 skis where also both overfilled
so I was averaging right at 3.7 5-60 times with full tank of gas. Comparing 10-60 to my 19px when it was stock, I would say the new ski is about 2 tenths faster.
It would reach a top speed of 70.3 then pull back to 68.x.
