2021 GP 1800 transom plate

This feels like deja vu... Remember the 2020 pump redesign that was supposed to be a 160? Ended up being bad info from sources at Yamaha.

ok then the question is why so many people tell that BS that the plate is 160mm

They are simply repeating what they were told by Yamaha PR Dept. Maybe Scott Watkins, project manager, could explain it to us.

well ask who you want and read what you want but the transom on the 21 GP is not 160

Look how crooked it is too. Cmon Yamaha, why make us reseal and properly align our own transom plates?

Dean's has a service to taper yours to 160mm. I don't recall exactly how much but it was reasonable, I had mine done and it looks great.

Guys, the transom plate on the 2021 GP is indeed 160mm. Shhr apparently got an old 155 transom plate installed at his ski at the factory... I wonder how many others did as well.
Riva checked all their 2021 GP's for me yesterday and all have 160mm transom plates, my ski does as well.

The only theory I have is maybe the 160mm transom plates were delayed, as many other parts are as well, so Yamaha used old stock of 155 transom's to complete skis and get them shipped.... .this is just a theory and not fact.

I don't want to fuel a theory .... but that's a good one, and totally plausible given it were either deliberate or accidental ... and if this becomes fact, doubt we'll ever know which, and would this be recall-worthy? I say heck ya.
Either way, Imma seeing another (or updated) "sticky" along the lines of .... "All 2021 GP owners ... measure your transom plate".

Does it taper from 155 where it meets the intake grate and pump tunnel to 160 at the wear ring?
