My Wife Laughed When I Showed Her My...
NEW BOAT!
Well, new to me. It hasn't been run since 2008. It still has 'fuel' in it, smells like turpentine and will likely be a mess to clean out. It has a few little dings in the gelcoat, as well as some bubbling. I spent most of the day cleaning it, but I haven't gotten to the engine compartment yet.
The first goal is to get it running. I hope to play with it next summer, then do an engine upgrade in a year or two.

Is that a stick in front of seat?

Yes, it has a joystick for steering and a trigger throttle. The stick folds down in case you go flying 'over the bars', also useful for when you put a cover on it. The seat also folds flat.
This pic shows the control panel. The bottom row contains fuses. The top row contains bilge pump & fan switches, lanyard switch (SeaDoo style), master switch (like the infamous orange switch), and choke knob.
Pardon the grime on the bottom of the pedestal. I didn't have time to clean all of it.Last edited by steve45; 01-18-2021 at 10:39 AM.

I had a chance to buy an SC a couple of years ago for $800, but passed on it. I'm kicking myself now...
I've been eyeing this Jet Mate for years. It's been in storage at the mobile home park where our lake house is, visible but fenced in. After reading Beerdart's thread about his Jet Mate build, I approached the owner about it. Turns out that somebody else actually owned it and they wanted it gone.
If I see one, I'll let you know!

Definitely a head turner, looks like it has the aerodynamics of a brick. What powers it , a 2 or 4 stroke.
