Wear ring 2016 FZS

Is it common for the wear ring to be going in a 2016 FZS with 90 hours on it? Also, recommend riva stainless steel or just another stock one? The ski seems to not top out higher than 85mph as intended with the upgrades.

no i have 380 hrs and mine is fine

The factory is aluminum with a pressed in stainless ring. The dissimilar metals react and corrosion expands in between and pushes it into the prop. salt water makes it happen faster.

full stainless will make it not happen again.

Or can rock a stock one for few years again.

Yes I have had a few different solas props in there with the various upgrades I’ve done. Is it also possible to be losing top end because of a wear ring going bad?

Yes, it can absolutely cause speed loss. You can upgrade to the new 2020 style pump with replaceable stainless steel wear ring for less than the cost of a new wear ring. Have a look here in the GreenHulk store

The entire 2020 pump setup is a much better option and cheaper than just the Riva wear ring.
