    Mystery Yamaha

    Hi all,

I'm interested in a Yamaha Waverunner for sale locally.
I've been sent images and a video of it running.
I can't find any details on it and the owner said he bought it a year ago as is and hasn't done anything to it.
    He's telling me that it's a Waverunner with a 700cc 80hp motor in.
Is it a newer hull and older engine?
Any pointers or help much appreciated for a noob.

Is there anything I should be looking for, please?

OMG, it's just wrong. That is a VX110 hull and someone put a 2-stroke motor in it. Run away.

    Run away !!
A first-timer should not buy a frankenstein-ski as your first ski. Why would you even consider this?? Money? Save up and consider a "normal" used ski if you cannot afford to buy new.

They did, must be only available in countries with no two stroke rules, like Thailand. Dang, does this mean I can slap a 155hp 1200 in a VX hull?

550lbs with that 701 in it.

    Too heavy with small engine?
It's priced at around $800 which is very cheap here.
