    Riva tune reliability?

I have a new 2021 gp1800r SVHO ordered coming this spring. So far my riding has been on a stock VX Cruiser HO. After my initial break-in, somewhere around 10-15 hours in, I plan to run Riva’s Stage 1, or 1+. My question is, even tho I see this is a very popular option chosen by many riders, is there any data on its reliability? Meaning, compared to a stock ski, what’s the odds of having a catastrophic failure? I realize as you move up in stage tune you are gaining performance thru increased RPM, a time proven way in most all motor sports. And the other mods are added to help make the engine stay alive. But, are there any statistics out there? At what RPM do you get away from keeping the machine “reliable”?

I understand the concern since you're spending a pretty penny on a new ride but in my opinion it's as reliable as the manufacturers tune so run it and feel safe. If you dont get 5he map tuner right away then you certainly will once another ski whoops up on you. It's a certainty. Lol

These are a bunch of us with GP1800 SVHO running stage 1 plus tunes with no issues.

My group of friends is all between 200-350 hours and still going strong

They are VERY reliable. They are the only tunes written using an 02 sensor on every cylinder and they are the only tunes developed with both dyno and on water testing.

Im not 100% sure, (but ill find out soon) but Im pretty sure you can datalog and send that info to Riva and they will adjust the tune for you. Ill be doing that as soon as the datalogging gets installed.

Yes, you can absolutely do that. Another beautiful benefit to the MaptunerX system.
