Carbed 951 GTX Liminted compare

Ok , My GTX is carbed 951. It has 215 hours. Rebuilt carbs last year and ran great, this year having issue like fuel shortage. I pulled carbs and cleaned then bypassed fuel selector. Just to compare today it ran well, 6730 rpm at 57 mph on GPS. How does that compare to everyone else. I feel I have lost a little speed somehow. How is everyone's 951 performing?

215 hours is pretty darn tired for a 951 carb that hasn't been opened up!!! But on that same note, I finally rebuilt my 951 carb at 307hr since the compression was down around 110 and imbalanced; getting hard to start.

My fresh 951 gains ~100rpm in cooler weather, runs out around 7150 in 60F water, and in that 7000-7050 range when the water is 75F.

Did you happen to clean out the inlet filters on your carbs when you cleaned them again?

I did clean Inlet filter in carbs. I would like to eliminate these and put in a a good in line filter. Is that recommended? What kind of mph you running at 7000

6700 rpm and 57mph is spot on! It's running perfect!

Sounds good, wish it was a little faster seems it used to go a few more rpm.

That's a little faster than mine but mine is GTX so heavier .

Seeing those exact same numbers on our 2000 rx carb .

Good to know but seems just a little off. FYI everyone my speedo no longer works but it did regularly hit 67-68 at this rpm so it is overstated about 10 to 15%. Got to use the gps to be more accurate.
