Removing speedo wheel
I am putting a 2019 ride plate cut by Dean on my 2017 FXHO, I have already installed a Candoo GPS module, The new ride plate doesnt have the cutout for the speedo wheel. So what is the best way to remove the wheel?
Thanks

Are you asking about the CANDooPro GPS module to provide accurate speed readings on the dash after the speed wheel is disconnected?
Or about how to delete the now unneeded paddle wheel sensor and wire?

I remove the wire. I cut it, and then the through hull fitting you can unscrew with you hand. and then pull cable from the inside. wire will pull through. then can pull the bare wire out of each zip tie, as it runs through the hull up to the gauges, and trash it. less wire in bilge.
To seal the through hull fitting, the easiest and quickest option is a penny. The through hull fitting has a plastic outer, then a metal washer, then that presses on the rubber part that has the hole for the cable. If you put a Penny before the rubber part, the plastic nut and washer push penny against the rubber grommet and seal. would take years and years floating to corrode through a penny. let alone in a ski that is trailered.
I know that's a lazy and red neck fix but it does work, and is instant. I have debated using this and making a block off plate with another through hull for cooling when/ if I can get a turbo set up

I'm assuming if you just cut the wire at the hull connector (on outside ski) that it will not leak through the connector, correct? I cut mine this weekend and put alittle silicone on the exposed wire. I left everything on the inside in place except the connector under the dash of course.
