Which Oil Lines
I know this has been discussed but I can’t seem to find it. I need to replace the oil lines on my 1992 VXR 650 and am wonder what lines are recommended? Suggested suppliers?
Thanks in advance.

I suggest a local hydraulic machines supplier
They usually carry a good variety of sizes and types.
And if you take a sample, they can provide a similar or better material.
At least this is what I do.

I hadn’t thought of that. Sounds like a good idea, I’ll check into it.

BTW some of them also can make or repair cables (throttle, steering, etc) , and much cheaper and faster than ordering one online.
I basically use them for everything from car ac piping to brakes, fuel, anything that carries a fluid or a cable.

Just go on Ebay and order some polyurethane hose. 1/8" ID for the small lines, probably 1/4" ID for the supply line from the tank. Yamaha changed supply hose sizes later on. You can backflush the inline oil filter. Don't forget to put the inline pop-off valves in with the arrows pointing toward the carburetor.
Secure the oil lines with .025" stainless steel safety wire. See post #13 here: http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=286584
Pre-fill the hoses with a baby dropper, or run pre-mix in addition to the oil injection until the hoses fill up.

I replaced all of the lines yesterday and found that my fuel filter had a small leak from a stress crack so that was a good find.
Thanks for the help.
