    Angry Exhaust Temp Sensor BlockOff?

    I have a 2000 Yamaha GP1200R.
I removed the CatCon and put in the D-Plate and chip.
So now I have the temperature sensor cable ziptied up at the top of the pipe.
This looks so JANKY and I want to block it off

I pulled the sensor and took it to Home Depot in hopes of finding a proper
replacement screw [metric #10 or #12 with proper thread count & course/fine]
I didn't have any luck and need a solution.

I suppose I could pull the sensor and have a machine shop arc weld the top of the
original screw and then I could file it down/paint/replace and thus seal the port.

Just wondered if somebody knew of the exact screw to replace this Exhaust Temp
Screw and maybe if RIVA or Blowsion or somebody made some anodized replacement?

Any ideas? [Sorry IDK how to post a URL pix?]

    Thanks

    DJ

Take the sensor to the autoparts store. I forget the thread but an oil pan drain plug will seal it up for you.

Just cut the probe off and file it smooth.

Jonesyfxr is spot on with where to go, bear in mind it will not be stainless so keep the exposed part of the bolt greased - my first one rusted like a mutha'
