Yeah... I've found plastic gear bits all through-out the engine I rebuilt that had that failure too. Heavy in the sump corners and in the filter too.

Sorry to see your plating failure. Seems all us Weber guys have seen it a time or two or three.

Yea we thought we had them all cleaned out. But we had to open the motor back up as we didn’t get lucky with the head gasket like we thought.

I have discovered I have 9 of these machines within 100 miles of me. So I’m going to try and organize a little meet up here this summer. I’ve got two other guys asking for help on theirs. I’ve become friends with a few people now that I have digital wrench lol

Well engine number 2 is on the bench. Plate failure confirmed

I had them do mine a few years ago when I rebuilt it. Came back looking awesome

Alright guys. Engine number 2 is tore down and the cylinders are ready to be sent off for repair. Only issue is the plate failure damaged the pistons to much and I’m told they need to be replaced. I’ll likely go with factory ones from Randy. Are there other options people have used?

Relocating the oil pressure switch. Is it the port that’s right under the oil filter that you can move it to?

For those of you in need of oil. You may want to check your local Walmart. The ones by me are clearing this out for $15 a jug... as you can see I stocked up!
