    I wonder how the shark gill sections on the bottom of the hull affect flat water speeds. We fill in silly ride plate holes and now we get these hmmmmm. Maybe they push air bubbles under the hull and create less drag?

    I presume they will act like lifting strakes on a boat. Reducing drag and getting on plane quicker, but time will tell. Guess me n you will have to live vicariously thru dinomites reviews until things unthaw up here

    If I remember correctly, there is an old GPR thread where this was discussed. The perfect underside for speed would include some dimpling.

    As for how fast this hull is, there is a pod cast/video where a racer claims that it will do 83 with minimal changes.

    I hear Ya, that’s one man’s opinion and it’s certainly not mine. It’s a bit concerning to me that he mentions that about the SeaDoo though, with no comment on the GP’s performance in the same conditions.

    I was bsing with the owner at my dealership today and while talking Yam Gp’s, he mentioned that he’s had customers complain about their GP’s “Beating them up” and trading them in for other skis.

    Don’t have any hours on the GP hull, but if it doesn’t ride any better than the new FX then I know exactly what they mean.
