Correct. Just splice the new wire to the old and it should work just fine

try posting in the classified if your looking for something

So I dont have any pictures of it handy and its the backyard of my friend's house currently but its the stock 95 SL650 tank that had the screw on top with 3 or 4 hoses that went down into the tank.

I'm having to replace the tank and sender because the original hosing and cap setup had completely deteriorated and I couldn't find any decent replacements online.

I'd be leary of the fuel hose used on this one. If it's already used and still soft, you're good to go. If it's used and somewhat rigid, it will get hard and most likely crack. If the hose is new, it's a crapshoot.

This one needs new hose. As described in my above link, the hose you use must be rated to be able to be immersed in fuel. It does not have the "clunks" mounted on the hose, but you should have them sitting in the bottom of your fuel tank already.

If you can find someone close to your location parting out a Polaris "SL" 650/750/780/900 see if they'd sell the fuel tank and sender. It's not a highly sought after part and most likely will be let go for cheap. Unfortunately I scrapped a number of them over the years because no one ever needed one. (just make sure the filler neck is at the front of the fuel tank and not on the side)

If you wanted to go newer fuel tank version though, you'll need the tank and sender. Just make sure you don't get a sender for a "SLT" model as they are longer and won't work for your application.

The parts I'm linking SHOULD work for you, but VERIFY before purchasing anything.

Fuel sender you need is 13" from the mounting flange to bottom of sender. Verify length before purchasing.

GREAT DEAL if it works for your application.

Another option you can try is John at Rock County Jetski. Great guy to deal with and he should know exactly what you need.

Are there different lengths of senders from that same year? I was looking only at the 96-97 SL650/700/750 model parts as far as the tank and sender.

The only OEM replacements I've seen seemed fairly worn and I worry I'd pay for it and get it in just to end up replacing it later. Seems like most people with this model just swapped to the new style sender and tank.

    Here's what I was considering:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/1996-Polari...kAAOSwvLteeTnZ - Fuel Tank
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/95-POLARIS-...0AAOSwdONf~fBt - Sender

    Are those the right parts?

Parts numbers could be looked up here; https://parts.polarisind.com/Advance...ncedSearch.asp

97 models had a different style tank, different fuel fill hose location (side instead of front) and in 97 they went with a different fuel switch (no reserve) so only 3 hoses were used at sender, sorry I never compared length.

Ive got a sender thats a direct replacement on order now! All I'm looking for it next is the diaphragms for the carbs and she should be running!
