    Salt Off

Has anyone used the product "Salt Off" to flush a jet ski after riding in salt water?
The instructions on the bottle mention that it can be used to flush both outboard and inboard engines.
I wonder how efficient the product is in removing salt deposit?
    Thanks

Well, I have no idea what PTEF actually is, but the product seems to be intended for use of the outside surfaces of boats and such. Using it for engine flushing seems like an afterthought.

I use Salt-Away for engine flushing.

Others use original formula Dawn liquid dishwashing product for engine flushing, with good reports.

It’s much cheaper than SaltAway. There are some YouTube videos that tested them and SaltOff did not perform as well as SaltAway. SaltAway is much more concentrated as well.

You mentioned that you use Salt-Away. Can you give me a hint on what or where to check ?
    Thanks!

Well, do you still have the engine overheat condition with suspected water jacket clogging?

I have not done a test ride so far. May be on Monday.

Did a test ride today. Temperature on all three cylinder heads was around 133F. Prior to the test, I unhooked the water inlet hose from the exhaust pipe, installed a proper fitting and blew compressed air through the hose. Found a small opening in the jet pump housing where air was getting out. I used a small wire brush to clean the hole and found 2 other holes (see picture). This is not documented in the factory manual. It only mentions to clean the small filter mesh which was only seen on 1994 + models, not on 1992-93.
    Thanks for your suggestions
