GP1300R Idle Issues
Hello I have a 2003 GP1300R and after the dealer replaced the Crank shaft I have been having problems with the idle.
It runs fine when giving it gas however when I don't give it gas it will shut off.
1. Is it possible that the throttle cable was stretched?
2. Can I adjust the throttle cable? (Make it tighter?)
3. Where are the locations for the throttle cable?
THanks

you should take it back to the dealer and they must fix it.
Free of charge.
Afterall, they didnt fix it right and you paid them to fix it.
And remember they are the experts and thus should of fixed it right the first time.

Yea that is what I told them. BUt he said that there was no throttle adjustment. He also said if he thinks it might be the injectors and in that case they would charge me to take it all back out again.
SO I take it thats its true "There is no way to adjust the throttle cable?"
Thanks

the throttle cable is adjusted on the trigger.
You turn a nut and it tentiones the cable.
It however has a limit.

I took my ski out on the water today and I remember why I love it!
Also can anyone explain exactly what a Ride Plate is?

A ride plate is the big plate under the the ski in the back behind the intake grate and pump shoe, between the trim tabs, where the speedo sensor is mounted.
this is what the ski leans back on when at higher speeds and acceleration. It controls the attitude of the craft. Its one of the biggest items that can cause a speed gain or loss or handling gain or loss depending on its angle and positioning.
