I’d order the pistons that fit the cylinders. But it wouldn’t hurt to have the bored checked to make sure they’re round and the actual bore size.

Good call, I actually looked in my tool collection and found a bore gauge! haha forgot I had that. Anyways all the bores are in great shape with nearly zero change in diameter top to bottom, measured at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 o'clock. Also measured bore diameter and came out at 80.015 for 2 cylinders (8 & 10) and 80.025 for the 14 so that appears to be within spec for using the 2x B Pistons (79.91mm) and 1x C Piston (79.92mm).

So before I buy the ProX pistons do I still want to stick with stock clearances even if I bump the compression a little to say 140psi? I am planning to build the ski similar to the Stage 2 Riva mods here but with the addition of a higher comp cylinder head. I also have a Protec PV Controller.

Or should I be going a little looser with 2x A Pistons and 1x B Piston to give a bit more piston cylinder clearance?

I’m selling a 2000 all white out GPR with a 1300 in it if interested. Need it gone soon.

You should try the For Sale section instead of my rebuild thread...

Can Gp1300R reed cages/reeds be used in a GP1200R engine? Are they the same or is there an advantage to one over the other?

We installed 1300 reeds and cages in our 1200R. From what I’ve read, they flow better than 1200R cages.

Good to know, I will try to find some 1300 cages, did you install oem reed petals or did you go with carbon aftermarket reeds?

Sounds like stock hold up and the carbon ones chip with low hours as they are close to the crank turbulence without a spacer. Did you use the GP1200r reed plate or will I need the 1300 plate to mount the reeds to?

We used the 1300 reed plates and reeds. I believe the reeds are the same.
We obtained the reed plates from a GH member.
