2017 FX Cruiser HO 18 hours on it what first mods?

I just picked up my first pwc and added a candoo gps module. What would be a few easy mods to maybe get better handling and maybe a bit more speed.

Even though the 16-18 FX HO is really the desired year group in the naturally aspirated FX to own, there just isn't a lot to be done to them. The 19+ are considerably slower. I would delete the ribbon if it hasn't already been done. You can get a DIY air filter to stick straight on the throttle body for less than $40 at an auto parts store. I don't know of an aftermarket ride plate, but you could certainly get a stock plate modded with Jim's Cut. I may pick up much speed, but you would surely get some additional handling out of it. Take a really good look at your prop, and if it isn't pristine that could be a good place to start.

Do the ribbon delete first, then follow up with better ride plate and free flow exhaust. You should gain about 3-5 mph top speed increase

I strongly agree with the others. A ribbon delete was the biggest improvement for mine.

You are obviously not happy with speed or handling with your new ski or you would not be asking theses questions. Take vantage of the strong used market price of your ski and sell it and by a new supercharged version. You will be much happier in the long run, ski will be faster and more mods to do that will effect speed and handling. I hope I did not come across sounding too harsh to a new member... You take care

Do you have to do the Riva air intake to get the full affect with this or just the actual ribbon delete.
