This ski rockets off a hard launch and the mid range acceleration is insane.

So will it walk away from my 19 RXT-X 300?

Did they do anything to the motor? Yamaha site says: More Power and Torque than any waverunner before it??

FYI. Im not starting crap..I am seriously considering making the swap and would welcome the feedback...I almost dialed my dealer a few minutes ago..

That's a lot of matt black plastic on the new top deck. Does it have some kind of UV protection because that stuff tends to go grey and scratchy from sun exposure.

I find the GP kinda boring looking for a top performance model. Looking at some launch photos of the 2012 RXP ...pretty amazing how far ahead of its time that design was, even today it looks bad ass. (yes I own one but still)

It looks like that whole black cover needs to come off to gain any kind of engine access with more than a few bolts that must be removed. UGH. Maybe not a huge deal at home, but out on the water double and triple UGH’s. I hope I’m wrong on this

So will the intake grate from these new skis fit older 17-20 GP?

Bet you a dollar the grate don`t.
I also bet the supercharger clutch Part number will fit still, from Yamaha’s old inventory. Problems with the supercharger will not change.

It absolutely will fit all 17-20 GP's but you will still want the new Riva gen2 grate

Yamaha has been saying that every year since the SVHO was first announced.

They are comparing SVHO to the SHO engine

The new Gen2 RIVA grate has a much bigger opening, much like the new 2021 grate, which allows more water in greatly reducing the cavitation problem on hard hole shot, and it improves acceleration and hookup. Here's a pic of the original RIVA grate next to their new Gen2
