Think I got screwed...
I purchased a 93 SL 750. The owner assured me it ran, but could not test it cause we did not have a battery. Today I put a fresh battery on the ski, and heard a gurgling noise when I tried to start it. I took out the plugs, (noticed dripping water running off of them) so i hit the starter. It looked like a geyser out of all three cyclinders.
My question is... Is this engine hosed?

I called him, he basically said AS IS ... which is my fault for not checking. He said two weeks ago his friend had it running, All i can assume is that the moron left the garden hose on to long without the engine running.

How much did you pay? We can and will help with the rebuild. Have you torn it down any more? I think you need to pull the engine. Make sure you break loose the PTO coupler before you pull the engine and cylinders.
I think that guy gets the A Clown of the week!!! What is his # we will send out the Posse!!!

Thanks Guys.. this forum is awesome!
I got two skiis and a double trailer for $1700. One a 95 (which has starter problems) and this 93.
I am actually in the process of taking the starter off the 93, to hopefully use on the 95. They look the same.
I removed the heads from all 3 cyclinders, the walls are not rusted, and they are smooth. The pistons are a little black, but no rust. I can see the lake of water below the pistions where I'm sure the major issues can lie.
When i pulled the muffler off, the whole thing was filled up with water. I drained that so far. I Live near a harbor frieght, I was actually thinking about going to by an engine lift. How hard is it to pull this engine out?
I'm currently having trouble with the underneath bolt on the exahust manifold under cyclinder #1. You can read about that in my other post.
Thanks for the help guys!
*The thing that really pisses me off, is that he said last year he had them running and parked them.

I just put my motor back in. It isnt too heavy. If you're strong you can do it yourself, but two people is really best. I'd say its maybe 175lbs? Anybody know for sure?
