    Rust on rubber

There are these little rubber stopper in front of the front storage bin. I assume it helps keep the water out. Looks like the edges are starting to rust. I guess there is metal in them to make them sturdy. I used a wire brush and cleaned it up before spraying FlexSeal. Is there something better to use? Both the 160 and 160LX has the same rust issue.
